Slick it up’s The Big Picture has assembled a number of photos showing the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the photos are heart-wrenching.

I will say this though, Americans seem to be looking for a scapegoat. In circumstances like this no one person is to blame, but BP CEO Tony Hayward might just be the guy that picks-up this label. In the other media and in the photo of him included in this collection, I can’t help but think this guy “found out about it” like everyone else. In a way, I’m glad he’s taking it, but part of me says we shouldn’t be so focussed on blame but instead be focussed on resolution.

To my point, the succeeding photo of Representative Steve Scalise, of Louisiana, has a framed photo of an oil-soaked and distressed pelican. Understandably, the photo was produced to incite emotions…but in a frame?
